Our Mission

Our Mission
Brave Heart is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing veteran homelessness in the Gulf Coast region. We help veterans secure housing, access critical benefits and connect to community resources so they can live with stability, dignity and the opportunity to thrive.

Who We Are

We serve veterans and at-risk senior veterans who are experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or barriers to accessing benefits and support services.

Veteran Homelessness Prevention

  • Identify veterans at risk of homelessness
  • Support rapid connections to housing options
  • Advocate for housing stability and continuity


Benefits Navigation & Advocacy

  • Assist veterans in understanding and accessing:
    • VA benefits 
    • Disability and pension programs
    • Healthcare enrollment resources
    • Community and state assistance programs
  • Help gather documentation and coordinate referrals 


Housing & Support Coordination

  • Connect veterans to:
    • Affordable and accessible housing options
    • Transitional and independent living opportunities
    • Transportation and mobility resources
  • Coordinate with landlords, housing providers, and community partners


Education & Life Skills Support

  • Financial literacy and budgeting education
  • Employment readiness and vocational referrals
  • Reintegration and independent living education
